Clean Drinking Water

Imagine this, everyday when you want water you have to drink water that is brown in color and not clean. Or, what about this fact...about every 20 seconds one person dies because they don’t have access to clean water, or, about 10% of all diseases can be traced to bad drinking water.  In this paper you will find out, what clean drinking water is, what the causes are, what people are doing to help get more clean water, and what I am doing.

Clean drinking water is one of the main problems affecting most Africans.  It is when Africans get water from rivers that is contaminated and can cause major diseases.  It is like when you eat bad food you get food-poisoning, its because you didn’t eat good food.  The bad water can also ruin a village over time.

There are a few reasons why it is such a fatal problem.  Some of the problem is water pollution.  When they drink the water then they get the chemicals which makes it that much more deadly.  Also with the good water they have, they aren’t conserving it.  They have good water but they don’t spread it out evenly.

Many people are trying to raise money to help.  The Water Project is raising money to make wells, which takes more money than other things.  The United Nations is getting celebrities involved.  Lenny Kravitz was born in New York and he considered water as a given thing but when he found out in Africa they have to find it, and if they find it, it is usually contaminated, he tried to make a difference. Hope Venture is asking for money donations for water and clothes.

I have chosen one of many possible things to do.  I made a website (http://thewaterproject.org/community/profile/cameron-fox) and it is also a website that gave me some of the details that I needed. I have also added “the chain reaction” in that. Also I am setting up a booth to get people to donate.

In this paper you read about, contaminated water, what its causes are, what others are doing to help it, and what I’m doing.  Imagine that we are in a war right now.  Well the bad drinking water kills more people than the guns in wars do.  That equals over 2.2 million people a year.
