Dipping Dangerously

Old Glory
Her outstretched arms
Soaring overhead
Reaching towards the sky
“Is the bell tower really falling over?”
Watch out below!
“So, is there such a thing as
4 dimensional art?”
A befuddled look
Crosses the docent’s face
“Is that a G on the silver tree?”
I’ve never seen that before
An old, yellow, school bus
Slowly rounds the bend
And stops
“But we just got here!”
Moans of disappointment
Escape the mouths
Of fifty-six
Sixth graders
And…
Their teachers
